Catching Fire Blog 1

SPOILER ALERT

I finished Hunger Games for my Sci-Fi book and now I am reading Catching Fire. So Katniss and Peeta won a game the year before where they are dumped into an arena with 22 other people to fight to the death until there is only 1 remaining person. Katniss and Peeta both end up winning by defying the capitol. Rebellions have started and Katniss has to work hard to convince everyone that what she did was out of love. The president is unsatisfied even though Katniss and Peeta are getting married. There is an uprising in several districts and so peacekeepers are loaded into district 12. Katniss decides that she is in love with Gale and not Peeta. One night, after a preview of her wedding dresses President Snow announces that the next hunger games will have tributes from the existing victors, so Katniss and Peeta have to go back into the arena. During the training session, they both do things to defy the capitol and score a perfect twelve in training anyway. In the interview, Peeta announces that he and Katniss got married in private and she is pregnant. The crowd gets really mad that only 1 of them can live. The next day, they go into the arena and she sees that there is a lot of water and a jungle.

I am so terrified and exited to find out about how both Katniss and Peeta win which I know must happen if they are going to make a third book. I worked hard to force myself to stop reading at such a suspenseful part until I finished my blog. Now I am typing as fast as I possibly can so I can finish the book so please excuse any typos. After saying how much I can’t wait to keep reading I guess its kind of a bad time to say that I don’t like this book as much as the first. Its getting better and better but the beginning was not as fast as Hunger Games. It is better now though because Im about to start the games. Also, Im so hung up on the idea of being an underground district 13 like Bonnie and Twill said that I cant concentrate on the rest of the book. Did I mention that in my summery? No, sorry. Anyway, while Katniss was in the woods she saw two people who escaped from district 8 during an uprising. They are hoping that there is a district 13 living underground that the capitol is just ignoring. It’s such a weird idea and I can’t wait to see what happens. I love Catching Fire and I recommend it for everyone who likes suspense, excitement, love, blood, gore, and death. Now I have to go because I have to keep reading before I lose my mind through to much suspense. Please comment. :)

I commented on Hannah's, Alli's, Deleney's, Alberta's and Olivia's blogs.

  1. Hey
I read this book too and it is really good. I never really got why they had people who had already won the games compete again, like isn't that kinda cruel. Making really old people and people who already fought for their life fight again. Any ideas??? I totally agree that it is an amazing book, but you HAVE to read the first book before you read the second or it makes no sense.
